Domain
A domain in Borld matters is any broadly defined area influenced by a certain set of characteristics. In documentation, the term is used primarily about cultural and linguistic areas of influence, although it also sees more general use. Features defining a domain's bounds can be topological (e.g. a subarctic domain), meteorological (e.g. a sandstorm domain), or dependent on human habitation (e.g. a cultural domain or architectural domain). The latter, quite prominent sense deacribes the general areas in which cultural groups reside, see for example the domains of the Varu or the Bep. Cultural domains practically always overlap. In some cases, such as the Bep's, the cultural domain coincides with an administrative, state-like entity, which is then also often referred to as the Bep(/other) domain.
